You will see the last place of tsar’s family residency.The Emperor and his family were shot in the basement of the Ipatiev house. Nowadays, the Church on the Blood is situated there. Ganina Yama is a place of a secret burial site of the tsar’s family. In 1979 the Monastery of the Holy Imperial Passion-Bearers was constructed here. In 2000 Patriarch Alexy II blessed the construction of the church on this Saint ground.

The exposition introduces you to a unique collection of antique items of wood, bone, horn, found in the extraction of gold at the end of XIX – beginning of XX century at the Shigir peat bog. The main and the most famous object of exhibition is a Large Shigir Idol, that is made of a split trunk of larch and was once a figure with a height of 5.3 meters with a three-dimensional head. The age of the sculpture is about 11 000 years! Great Shigir Idol is an evidence of a complex spiritual world of the ancient Urals, which reflects the mythology of the time. Nothing can compare with Shigir Idol, that is older than Egyptian Pyramids!
Nowadays Shigir Idol is the largest and oldest monumental cult sculpture made of wood on Earth!

The history of Uralmashzavod (Uralmash plant) is not only a history about technology, but also a history of the fate of several generations of people who gave their lives in the name of the glory of Uralmashzavod.
Uralmash plant was built in the forest by poor local people. It is thanks to their hard work that one of the world’s largest heavy engineering plants was built in just five years. Simultaneously with the plant growing up the city was built the streets were laid houses for workers and management.
